"FLOODS HIT POLO BUBO ( TSEKELEWU) COMMUNITY IN WARRI NORTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF DELTA STATE, FORCING RESIDENTS TO EVACUATE.

BY MIKE UGEDI - DELTA EVENT NEWS REPORTER

HEAVY RAINS SUBMERGED AREAS, INCLUDING THE CHURCH AND RESIDENTIAL ZONE.

Recent continuous rainfall has led to the partial submergence of Polobubo community in Egbema kingdom, Warri North Local Government Area, Delta state. Overnight, floodwaters inundated several areas, including Polobubo First Baptist Church and Pinakiri Zion Area.

Residents were compelled to flee as the water level exceeded window heights in many houses. Those who could move resorted to using canoes. This deluge is described as the most severe in their memory, predominantly striking at midnight. Churches, shops, and schools are now all underwater.

Regrettably, all socio-economic activities, including fishing and agricultural ventures, have been entirely swallowed by the calamitous floods. The community implores federal, state, and local authorities to intervene promptly, fearing loss of lives if aid doesn't arrive soon.

An inhabitant of Polobubo expressed, 'My village is entirely engulfed by floodwaters. As the overnight rain persisted, the front of the community succumbed, and water swiftly inundated our surroundings. We were uncertain of what the next 12 hours would bring.'"

We plead with the good government of Delta State, the Local Government Chairman, and others to come to our aid urgently.

SIGNED

HON. GODDAY OGUN-OYINBO

WELFARE PRESIDENT,

POLOBUBO (TSEKELEWU ) COMMUNITY.
