Delta Assembly Speaker Supports Ijaw Publishers Forum, Advocates for Professionalism - Delta Event Tv 


In a recent development, Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, has shown his support for the establishment of an umbrella organization for media executives within the Ijaw community by the Ijaw Publishers Forum (IPF). Guwor emphasized the importance of professionalism and objectivity among media practitioners during a visit by the IPF's National Executive Council to the Assembly Complex on Wednesday.







During the meeting, IPF President Comrade Ozobo Austin praised Speaker Guwor for his exemplary leadership qualities and contributions towards the progress of Delta State, particularly through the implementation of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori's MORE Agenda. Austin also expressed a desire for collaboration between the IPF and the state legislature.


Speaker Guwor appreciated the IPF's initiative to foster a partnership between the media and legislative bodies, urging the forum to adhere strictly to journalistic ethics such as professionalism, objectivity, and impartiality. He promised to provide the necessary support for the IPF's successful operation.


The meeting was attended by notable assembly members, including Emma Sinebe from Patani Constituency, Preyor Oboro from Bomadi Constituency, and Peres Oloye from Burutu II Constituency. The IPF delegation featured key figures such as Oyinbi Onduku, Vice President; Mike Ugedi, Financial Secretary; Tare Magbei, Secretary; Ezekiel Kagbala, Public Relations Officer; and Friday Mingo, Treasurer, along with representatives from South South Daily and Waffi TV.
