DESOPADEC Kicks Off Anti-Drug and Cultism Initiative in Sapele

The Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) is initiating a significant public awareness campaign to support the M.O.R.E. Agenda of the Delta State government.
Under the leadership of Chief John Nani, Chairman of DESOPADEC, and Chief Festus Ochonogor, Managing Director, the campaign targets the escalating issues of tobacco use, drug abuse, and cultism in Sapele.
The event, themed “Campaign Against Tobacco Use, Drug Abuse, and Cultism,” will take place on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Sapele Technical College.
Chinenye Ezonfade, Head of the Community Development and Public Enlightenment Department, along with Chief Favour Izuokumor, Executive Director of Social Services, will host the event, focusing on the severe dangers associated with these vices.
The campaign highlights the serious repercussions of tobacco and drug abuse, including brain damage, destroyed destinies, homelessness, and premature death. It also underscores the perils of cultism, such as criminal behavior, gang wars, addiction, and becoming a societal menace.
