The Esther Matthew Tonlagha Foundation (EMTF) hosted a grand and impactful Batch B Graduation Ceremony of its Niger Delta Youth Empowerment Programme on Friday, August 1st, at the prestigious Jubilee Retreat and Conference Center, Effurun, Delta State — and it was nothing short of remarkable.
The event, themed around empowerment and transformation, saw a vibrant gathering of dignitaries, entrepreneurs, supporters, and beneficiaries. Both male and female youths from across the Niger Delta region were celebrated after successfully completing intensive training in Culinary Arts, Makeup & Gele Tying, Cake Decoration, and Event Planning.
Graduating participants were not only awarded certificates of completion, but were also empowered with professional startup kits and cash support. Each Batch B graduate received equipment worth millions of naira and ₦500,000 in seed capital to kick-start their entrepreneurial journey.
The day began with insightful entrepreneurship lectures from seasoned businesswomen who encouraged the graduates to start small, remain consistent, and become solution providers in society. Their inspiring words fueled the hope and determination of the students.
The high point of the ceremony was a heartfelt address by Mrs. Esther Matthew Tonlagha, founder of EMT Foundation. She humbly stated that the initiative wasn't birthed out of abundance, but from a deep passion to uplift lives. “The government alone cannot do it,” she noted, “so we must do our part to touch lives.”
In a surprise gesture of love, Batch A students who were present also received ₦200,000 each, a move that further solidified EMT Foundation’s reputation for genuine impact.
Delta Event TV was on ground to capture the event in full. Our team interviewed graduating students, EMTF team members, and key stakeholders. The excitement, gratitude, and transformation in their testimonies were clear indicators of the program’s massive success.
Many of the students offered heartfelt prayers for Mrs. Esther Tonlagha and her husband, recognizing how this opportunity has permanently changed their lives.
We at Delta Event TV can boldly say — this is one of the most impactful empowerment initiatives ever witnessed in the Niger Delta.
We commend EMT Foundation, Tantita Security Services, Mason Engineering Nig. Ltd, Chief Tare Godfrey Pondi, and all other supporters for this life-changing program.
