The National Leader of the Niger Delta Youth Assembly (NLNDYA), Gen. Meshach Bigstar Ogbona, has sent a powerful end-of-year message of appreciation to Sheriff Oborevwore, commending what he described as an uncommon level of commitment to governance and development in Delta State.

In his message, Gen. Ogbona stated that, among the 36 states of the federation, no governor is presently working with the intensity, focus, and visible impact demonstrated by Governor Oborevwore. He noted that the governor’s leadership has translated into people-centred projects and practical governance that directly touch the lives of Deltans across communities.

To underscore his position, the NLNDYA National Leader highlighted five major areas of intervention that, according to him, distinguish Governor Oborevwore’s administration:

1. Massive Road and Bridge Construction: Accelerated rehabilitation and construction of strategic roads and bridges linking urban centres and riverine communities, easing transportation and boosting commerce.

2. Urban Renewal and Flyover Projects: Ongoing flyovers and city renewal initiatives in key hubs such as Warri and Effurun to reduce traffic congestion and modernise infrastructure.

3. Healthcare System Upgrades: Renovation and equipping of general hospitals and primary healthcare centres, improving access to quality medical services for residents.

4. Education Infrastructure and Human Capital Development: Investment in school rehabilitation, learning facilities, and support for education to strengthen the future workforce of the state.

5. Youth Empowerment and Job Creation Programmes: Skills acquisition, empowerment schemes, and support initiatives aimed at reducing unemployment and engaging young people productively.

Gen. Ogbona also extended profound appreciation to former Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, praising him for what he termed a wise and patriotic decision in choosing Governor Oborevwore as his successor. He acknowledged Okowa’s continued support and guidance, which he said have contributed to stability and continuity in Delta State’s development trajectory.

Furthermore, the NLNDYA leader used the opportunity to appeal to Governor Oborevwore to deepen youth inclusion in governance by considering him for special duties, jobs, or contracts, stressing that he possesses the experience, capacity, and commitment required to deliver results in service to the state and the nation.

He reaffirmed the unwavering support of the Niger Delta Youth Assembly for the Oborevwore administration, pledging continued collaboration toward peace, development, and sustainable progress in Delta State.

Signed:

Gen. Meshach Bigstar Ogbona
