Merry Christmas Comrades and Esteemed Workers of Delta State,

Dear Comrades and Esteemed Workers of Delta State,

As we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ and stand at the threshold of a New Year, I extend warm Christmas and New Year greetings to you and your families.

Christmas reminds us of hope, sacrifice, love, and renewal—values that resonate deeply with the labour movement. Despite the economic pressures, workplace challenges, and social uncertainties faced in the outgoing year, your resilience, discipline, and commitment to productive labour have remained unwavering. You are the backbone of our state and nation, and your sacrifices do not go unnoticed.

As the Trade Union Congress (TUC) Delta State Chairman, I reaffirm our unwavering commitment to defending workers’ rights, promoting decent work, fair wages, safe workplaces, and social justice. The New Year 2026 beckons with renewed determination to strengthen solidarity, deepen engagement with government and employers, and ensure that workers’ voices are heard and respected in all policy decisions.

Let us enter the New Year united, vigilant, and hopeful—standing together to build a fairer, more equitable, and prosperous Delta State where the dignity of labour is upheld.

May this festive season bring you peace, good health, joy, and renewed strength. May the New Year open doors of progress, protection, and prosperity for you and your loved ones.

Solidarity forever.

Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year!

Comrade Wilson Asekutu
Chairman, Trade Union Congress (TUC)
Delta State Council
