NIGER DELTA YOUTH ASSEMBLY SLAMS “BASELESS” REPORTS ON ALLEGED BOMADI CHAIRMAN PROBE, OFFICIAL STATEMENT BY HON. MESHACH OGBONA,

NATIONAL LEADER, NIGER DELTA YOUTH ASSEMBLY (NLNDYA)

Abuja, Nigeria — The National Leader of the Niger Delta Youth Assembly (NLNDYA), Hon. Meshach Ogbona, has strongly dismissed as “baseless” and “malicious” recent reports alleging that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is set to probe the Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon. Dagidi Andaye, over claims of financial misconduct.

In a statement issued on behalf of the Assembly, Hon. Ogbona described the reports as a deliberate smear campaign aimed at tarnishing the image of the Bomadi Chairman and destabilizing his administration.

> “Let me make it clear: Hon. Dagidi Andaye is not our issue. We have bigger problems in Bomadi—leaders who loot public funds and abandon our communities. If the EFCC is truly committed to fighting corruption, it should focus on those who have turned public offices into personal ATMs,” Ogbona stated.

He urged individuals and groups behind the allegations to desist from what he termed politics of destruction and redirect their energies toward addressing the genuine challenges facing Bomadi Local Government.

> “We see what you are doing. Stop the politics of destruction. Our people deserve better than petty squabbles and character assassination,” he added.

While reaffirming the Assembly’s support for transparency and accountability, Hon. Ogbona called on the EFCC to conduct a thorough and evidence-based investigation if any credible allegations exist.

> “The people of Bomadi deserve transparency and accountability. If there are allegations, let them be investigated properly and backed with facts. Our people must be protected from baseless attacks,” he emphasized.

The NLNDYA leader further appealed to the youths and residents of Bomadi to remain calm and focused on development, assuring them of the Assembly’s continued commitment to supporting progressive leadership.

> “I urge the people of Bomadi to remain calm and focused on development. As youths, we will continue to support leaders who prioritize the growth and prosperity of our communities,” he said.

The statement concluded with a firm warning against misinformation:

> “If there is no evidence, then this is nothing more than another attempt to destabilize a leader who is doing meaningful work.”

Signed:

Hon. Meshach Ogbona

National Leader
